Any church member can become an integral part of leading our church services. Check out the roles described below and get involved!
Worship leaders
Worship leaders serve with the priest during the Eucharist, and may lead Morning and Evening prayer and other services as requested. Chalice bearers serve the wine during Holy Communion. Both of these positions require instruction and licensing by the Diocese. This must be updated annually.
Lectors
Lectors read the word of God from the Old and New Testament during worship services. To become a Lector, contact Lois Downs.
Acolytes
The word 'acolyte' means 'server'. Youth and adults alike serve as acolytes. This group leads the procession, serves the priest at the altar, takes up the collection place, and other duties during the worship experience. Tim Quick is Acolyte Master.
Altar Guild
This is a group of women, divided into teams, that are responsible for the care and preparation of the altar and the vessels and decor used in divine worship. Lois Downs leads the Altar Guild.
Ushers
Responsible for greeting congregation and distribuiting service bulletins, taking up and counting Sunday offering, directing congregation during communion, taking the count, and other logistics during divine service. Melvin Warren is chair.
Choir and Bell Choir
Our choir sings during 10:30 a.m. Sunday morning services, and presents special music throughout the year. Our choir is led by Dr. Chris Jenkins.
Our Bell Choir plays several times a year at special times such as Christmas Eve and Easter.
